The Situation
Mrs Chan was managing alone in her Central flat after her husband's passing. Her daughter, who works long hours in finance, noticed that chores were piling up and that her mother was skipping meals. The family wanted help without removing Mrs Chan's independence entirely.
What We Did
She joined the Daily Living Support plan. Her named host, Kevin, visits three times a week β helping with housekeeping, accompanying her to the market on Tuesdays, and providing a gentle check-in that she says she now looks forward to. Meals and independence remain fully her own.
After Six Months
Mrs Chan's daughter reports that her mother seems more settled and more talkative than she has been in years. The flat is tidy, meals are regular, and β perhaps most significantly β Mrs Chan has started joining Yvonne's Wednesday outings group, which she initially declined.
Case Study Β· Complete Residence Living
The Situation
After a hospitalisation, Mr Fung's children felt he needed more support than they could provide while working full time. They were looking for a setting that felt like a home rather than a facility β somewhere he would not feel diminished.
What We Did
Mr Fung joined the Complete Residence Living arrangement. He has a private room on the upper floor, takes meals with the small group, and has become a regular on the harbourfront outings. His son visits every Sunday for lunch, which the kitchen now plans around.
After One Year
His son describes the past year as "the calmest our family has felt in a long time." Mr Fung's appetite has improved, he engages in conversation more freely, and his children say the monthly updates have removed the anxious guesswork that characterised the months before he moved in.
